A message from the President

I would like to take this opportunity to say Happy New Year and welcome to HSO’s new website! Most of it is complete but there are always little bumps in the road when constructing something new.

I am very excited to let you know about our State Meeting. It will be in Worthington at the Holiday Inn just north of Columbus. Amy Aulthouse is working on a fabulous program as usual and it will be formatted in the following way with workshops on Friday. A Vendor Reception (be sure to attend this to show the Vendors how important they are to us!!) will begin the evening followed by dinner with keynote speaker. Workshops will resume on Saturday and our annual State meeting will be on Saturday also. It promises to be a real educational and fun time so mark down April 20-21 on your calendars. I was very happy to see such a huge turnout for the National Symposium/Convention last September in Cincinnati. If you don’t know Ohio won the T-Shirt contest and we will have some of those great shirts on sale at the State meeting. Cincinnati was a fantastic host city and we collected a whole van full of items for the VA Hospital/Fisher House in our Stuff the Suitcase campaign. A BIG Thank You to all who were involved in the collection of items and for those of you involved in decorating for the Banquet. It was absolutely beautiful!

We are having a little vendor thank you by having them sign up new members. If you are a new member please right down the vendors name on your application. For every 5 new members they sign up they will get a discount on their table at the State meeting. My goal is to have 150 members this year for the State Society. Let’s meet or exceed this goal!!

I want to welcome everyone again and I hope to see old and new friends at the State Meeting in April.
