A message from the President…

Hi to Everyone!

I know this has been a long time coming but things have been really crazy and I can't believe this year has gone by so fast! I hope everyone had a great summer and fall (shortened by the early onset of winter cold, good thing we are not in Western New York!)

Well NSH has come and gone and it was another successful Symposium, next year it will be just outside Washington DC so hopefully you will be able to go since it will be closer. I am hoping more of you Histologists become National members so we have more of a voice at the National level. There is a lot going on with the ASCP and I urge you to check out the National website to see what's going on with your society.

What's happening in the State of Ohio! 2015 is election year for us and if anyone wants to run for an office please refer to the bylaws for eligibility and contact any officer to have your name on the ballot. We will be looking over the bylaws so stay tuned for any changes for those of you who are members you will be voting on the changes before the meeting. We will then be voting for officers and installing them at the State meeting in April. Speaking of the next State Symposium the date and place have been set so mark your calendars for April 24-25, 2015 in Beavercreek, Ohio (just outside of Dayton). This meeting will have topics in Molecular, Immunhistochemistry, lung, and colon cancers, a forum on Management,(this is just an sampling of lectures) and as you could see we will be covering a lot of topics and it promises to be a fantastic symposium! We will also be having our ever popular Vendor reception for those of you who want to spend some time finding out what is new and innovative in Histology. The program will be coming out just after the first of the year so stay tuned.

Well I could go on and on but I will cut this off so I could get this out to all of you. Enjoy your Holidays with Friends, Co-Workers, Family and those you love.

Yours in Histology,

Audrey Toothman

President, HSO
