AROUND THE REGION

Happy Spring all! Hope you have not been blown away by all of the storms happening lately! The Region’s spring meetings are over for the year and I would like to thank all of the states for their hospitality during my visits. I really enjoyed meeting new and old friends in all of the states I visited.

We have had two conference call meetings so far this year. A couple of announcements are that Joe Myers of Florida has been appointed to be the chair of the IHC Resource Group committee, replacing Anita Ostrander. The Joint Commission approached the NSH, asking for us to name a member to be part of the Professional and Technical Committee. Jan Gardner of Texas was named as our representative and Jean Mitchell of Wisconsin was named as her alternate.

This is the final year of Marilyn Gamble’s third term on the ASCP Board of Governors. She is ineligible for another term. There were two candidates nominated by NSH to the ASCP and Lena Spencer was elected to the ASCP Board of Governors. She will begin her term after the S/C in Cincinnati.

Speaking of which, I hope many of your are making your plans to attend this wonderful educational event! This site is drivable from all of Region IV, making this one of the most affordable meetings in a long time.
